    There are many real estate agents in the San Diego area. The purpose of this letter is to introduce one who, in my opinion, is an outstanding real estate agent and fully worthy of my recommendation. Larry Carmel of Coldwell Banker is that agent.

    Less than two months ago, when my wife and I had finally made the decision to sell the home I inherited from my father, we entered into an agreement with Larry, giving him exclusive right to sell the home. It has been our privilege and our good fortune to have selected Larry as our real estate agent. When Larry gave us his recommendation as to the selling price, we thought it was quite high. However, after considering his extensive experience selling in that area, and probably more importantly, trusting Larry to be a fair and honest person, we offered the sale to him, and at the price range in which he advised us to start. We are very happy that we trusted his judgment.

    Larry got to work immediately, preparing for an early open house and making contacts with his extensive network of connections and associations. He conducted open-houses midweek (relatively unheard of in this area) and had for us a potential buyer in very short order.

    Larry made this whole process much easier for us than I had imagined was possible. Selling a house is something we had never done before (having lived in the same home for the past 35 years), and we were a little apprehensive. He constantly kept us informed of any new developments and of any actions needed to be taken by us. Larry stayed on top of everything and really helped the process along. He was always the professional, in appearance and demeanor, and we appreciated very much the fact that he was "up-front" always pleasant, and blessed with an enjoyable sense of humor.

    In short, Larry Carmel sold our home in a timely manner for a price that pretty much amazed us, and made the entire process a pleasant one. The house sold for almost $200,000 more than other realtors had advised us we could get for the home.     First. when we were trying to make the best possible choice for a realtor to assist in the sale of our house, we found pretty much no difference with them all---negotiating a discount, experience, the realty company, track record---all the same. But, someone who could and would "put in the time", became a measure that in hindsight, proved to make our choice of Larry Carmel, a very wise one.

    Larry never broke a commitment; worked through tough weather when no other realtors, had their signs out; used qualified assistants to help with open houses so he gave all his clients the same hard work. His team, including his lovely wife, Diane, were there with useful, creative suggestions, coordinating arrangements, and always with thoughtfulness...all important to us.

    when offers required extra hours at night or late in the day, Larry was willing to keep going. We never thought selling or buying a house was that difficult for the money they made, and in some cases, that's probably true. But each sale has its difficulties and that's when a persistent and knowledgeable realtor, like Larry, is great to have on your side. Reflecting on the original thought of selling our house ourselves, we are thankful we didn't complicate even further the multiple tasks and work that goes on when making a move. It was nice to set selling free of thought after the initial decision and arrangements were made with our realtor, Larry; and then get on with the many other things we had to do.

    We said two reasons: The second is the complete effort Larry Carmel puts into his work. He knows the neighborhood and uses every possible outlet for successfully selling your house. He had unbelievable open-house exposure...often 2-3 times a week, above and beyond other realtors in the area having maybe only once every two weeks; he had multiple listings, newspapers, internet, meetings, and announcements with other realty offices, flyers, and his signs---well, nobody does it better---nobody!

    Coldwell Banker, the realty company, did add great support to Larry's efforts... They work as a team for you. And as a team we thank them too, along with Larry for all their help and a successful sale.
